NBA Lockout Day 63

Nothing like a 5-year anniversary that focuses on international ball. September 1, 2006, Greece beating Team USA 101-95 in the Semifinals of the FIBA World Championships in JapanFran Fraschilla almost enjoyed this as much as we Greeks.

It ended up being a turning point in the way the U.S. approached these tournaments. Team USA hasn't lost a game since then. From the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship, to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, to last year's World Championships.

Those last 2 minutes were so nerve racking (plus I was so sleep deprived from waking up at 3 a.m. for the game). Of course, in pure tortuous fashion, the biggest win in Greek basketball history leads to one of the biggest letdowns in Greek basketball history as we got waxed by Spain in the final. No shame in silver.
